Fluoroplastics

Fluorine plastics are an important class of plastics. Fluoroplastics are paraffinic polymers in which some or all of the hydrogen is replaced by fluorine. It is generally understood that fluoroplastics start with contact with plastic king-polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE or F). In fact, PTFE is just the largest variety of fluorine plastics in terms of output and volume. In addition, the commonly used fluoroplastics include: polyfluoroethylene (FEP or F), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE or F), poly Vinylidene fluoride (PVDF or F), polyvinyl fluoride (PVF or F), copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene (ETFE or F), tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer, ie, soluble polytetrafluoroethylene Fluoroethylene (PFA), chlorotrifluoroethylene and ethylene copolymers (ECTFE or F), etc.
Fluoropolymers are structurally divided into two major groups: one is a resin, which is then processed into a plastic, a paint, or a film; and the other is an elastomer, which is used to process a rubber-type elastomer product. The common characteristics of these polymers are good thermal and chemical stability and excellent electrical properties. Its main performance characteristics are shown in the table below.
Fluoroplastics have excellent resistance to high and low temperature, chemical stability, electrical insulation, lubricity, incombustibility, chemical resistance, weather resistance and high mechanical strength, and can better meet the special needs of related fields, even The demanding requirements, combined with the continuous innovation of production processes, the continuous expansion of production scale, the gradual decline in production costs, and the advent of new products, have made the fluoroplastics, which were initially used in the field of national defense and military industry, gradually develop into dual-use military and civilian applications. Special engineering plastics, the market demand continues to increase. Its uses are: various kinds of mechanical apparatus [electrical (including semiconductor), transportation, precision and general machinery apparatus], chemical and metal products manufacturing, other manufacturing, electrical, gas and urban water supply industries. Among fluoroplastics, PTFE is the largest variety, and the proportion of thermoplastic fluoroplastics has gradually increased, and some copolymer resin varieties have strong demand. Semiconductors, communications, automobiles, and construction are four new applications for fluoroplastics.
